Day Treatment Lotion SPF 15 – I have always been skeptical about trying products that are not oil-free, but this little bottle is loaded with anti-inflammatory benefits, plus it has SPF 15 that protects your skin from all those UV rays! Super light on the skin, this lotion is all an all-in-one treatment and is definitely a keeper!

free gel tightens the skin while making all those blemishes and irritated skin
disappear, it works like magic!

Did you know?

Did you know that before exercising there is a “Pre-Workout Drink” that will increase your workout intensity while helping improve your blood flow..?

GNC has many brands of pre-workout drinks and goes into detail about the purpose of each one of them and the different flavors.

Here’s is a link if you would like to know about this subject further:

Feed your body, fuel your life, and never feel deprived!!!

– Breakfast can be a dieter’s best friend, it jumpstarts your metabolism while keeping you from snacking mindlessly and overeating throughout the day. But eating the same thing every morning can leave you feeling bored and unsatisfied over time. You should swap your regular breakfast for a tasty alternative that you’ll enjoy and will help you stay energized until lunch. Eggs or cereal can be replaced with 2 slices of whole grain toast with jelly and peanut butter, this way you’re getting protein and the necessary nutrients and antioxidants while indulging your sweet cravings.

– For your midday snack, nonfat Greek yogurt, a banana, and 8 ounces of water should keep you from munching until lunch.

– For lunch, a chicken salad and a powered up smoothie, which is made up of 1 cup of coconut water, half a cup of carrot juice, half a cup of blueberries, 1 frozen banana, and 2 teaspoons of flaxseed oil would be a healthy meal since the powered up smoothie serves up 3 servings of fruit.

– For an afternoon snack, cottage cheese with any fruit and the 8 ounces of water should get you through until dinner.

– Ideally, before 7pm, any meal containing plenty of steamed vegetables can be accompanied by either fish or chicken since it is not recommended to eat red meat before bed due to it’s lengthy digestive process.

I hope this helped.

Good Luck!!!

Ever thought eating healthy and staying in shape was an unattainable goal? Most people tend to think that they have to go through great lengths to prepare a healthy meal and design a schedule where they can fit “gym time.” They also resort to alternatives such as in-home DVD programs in order to manage their time, in the long run, DVDs begin to collect dust and the closest thing to a healthy meal is a Diet Coke accompanied by a chain of fast food restaurants. There’s an infallible truth and that is that in order to eat well and maintain a healthy body there are two main components: will power and sacrifice. Yes, no matter how many P90X dvds we buy or how expensive our food channel subscription is, one thing will prevail, if there is not a positive mindset and determination to achieve a goal the effectiveness of any program will seem to fail in every way.  I welcome you to Health & Nutrition section @SecondLook, where you will learn that eating healthy and achieving a great physique goes hand in hand with being a happy camper.

Miami Beach, a scenery full of pastel-colored Art Deco hotels and white-sand beaches, the perfect combination for..just about anything.

Between the heat of the sun, a humid atmosphere that desperately calls for a drink and flip-flops that come and go, there is a place out of this planet; really, it’s called Planet Sushi.

Straight from Paris, the Japanese restaurant has become the epicenter of what’s chic, what’s in and what’s delicious.

This is a casual occasion, no need for sky-high heels or sequined dresses. Sink into the white sofas, reminisce over vibrant walls, lighted with pink LED lights and look over a menu that will leave you wanting more than you can handle.

Planet Sushi brings you a new sushi food concept: live videos from the kitchen through impeccable 52-inch plasmas, strategically placed in every possible, visible angle.

The menu ranges from their Maki-Roquettes – colorful rolls, made of leafy greens and your choice of cheese or avocado, carefully wrapped in slices of tuna or salmon all the way to irresistible desserts like their Makinutella – coconut rice wrapped around melting nutella and covered with a crunchy omlette.

Grab a friend, maybe two and you’ll be sure to leave relaxed and satisfied – Miami Beach style.

Crystal Kazemfar woke up one early Saturday morning to mix her two favorite things: water and yoga.

A combination of yoga and paddle boarding has made its debut to Miami and Kezemfar was decided to try the new combination of sports.

“I learned about sup yoga through kite boarding, I’ve been involved with yoga for about a year and a half,  I also love being on the water, so I thought why not mix the two together?”

Paula Ambrosio, 32, introduced yoga paddle boarding to Miami in April, 2010 integrating it to the many excursions and classes offered by Adventure Sports Miami co-owned company with husband Michael Kent Marinkovic, 42, Ambrosio decided to mix paddle boarding with yoga.

“The idea came from a friend who is a yoga instructor. I had never seen Yoga Paddle Boarding prior to my friends and I experimenting with the idea,” says Ambrosio.

Brendas Alas Delgado, 38 and yoga instructor says they have at least six customers in each class where they enjoy complete silence, respiration exercises and also learn how to gain perfect balance.

For Jamie Festa, 30, also a yoga instructor and co-organizer, yoga has helped her cope mentally, physically and emotionally.

“I got certified as a teacher about a year ago and I love it.”

While having fun Ambrosio mentioned her best way to stay fit, “I personally enjoy the yoga paddle boarding classes as a sport to stay fit without ever having to step in an old boring gym again,” says Ambrosio, who has offered more than 50 yoga paddle boarding classes ever since she started the business.

Adventure Sports Miami offers more than one excursion and also just a class on its own. Customers can sign up for the 1-hour Yoga Paddle Boarding Class for $40.00 which includes board but no excursion or for $80.00 they can enjoy the yoga class plus a three-hour excursion which includes a picnic.

Classes are offered Monday through Friday at 8:00 am and 5:00pm at Matheson Hammocks Park in Coral Gables. All classes are RSVP, since they have a limited amount of boards. The excursions are held on the weekends from 10:30am to 1:00 pm.

Ambrosio said that mixing yoga with paddle boarding turned out to be the perfect combination.

“As an owner of a kite boarding and windsurfing business, we are constantly depending on wind to teach our lessons. Yoga Paddle Boarding offers my customers a fun and challenging activity for those non windy days.”

A Skilled Journalist

I was asked to analyze what makes a good journalist, good?

  • Good reporting skills – ability to finds facts that corroborate the information obtained by other sources
  • Outstanding writing skills
  • Curiosity – in order to find a story, a good journalist must ask many questions and look for the story behind the story
  • Intuition – a journalist knows when someone is lying to them or his/her sources are not reliable
  • Descriptive – painting a picture goes hand in hand with story telling, to keep readers interested, an image has to be presented to them
  • Passionate – needless to say, journalists must be passionate in the search of their next story, otherwise, he will be just an essay writer instead of a journalist
  • Reporter – although reporting is part of the process of being a journalist, it is only 50% of the profession, the other 50% is conformed of small pieces  coming together
  • Well-rounded/ Book Worm – journalists should know a little of everything, they are destined  to be endless readers. In order to talk about something, one must know about it first
  • Professional – although it might be hard to be remain impartial in some stories, a journalist must remain in the middle and adopt a neutral position
  • Be objective – the ability to separate what’s really important from all of the other information that is not relevant to the story
  • Persistent – a key trait in a journalist, overcoming the NO
  • Patient – understanding when is the right moment to ask the right question
  • Social Guru- having contacts and people who could be potential sources at some point in life. Because no one nows what situation might arise and who can help

Most of all, a journalist has to have a passion for information and communicating that information to the masses. A journalist serves as a venue of information to those who don’t have access to books or other means of education, the journalist is the medium that educates and informs people around the world. That is a mission that only a skilled journalist can perform.

Chevy Comes to FIU: A panel of three social media gurus came to Florida International University to inform its students about social media and its importance in today’s ever-changing technology.

Sponsored by Chevy, the three social media experts explained FIU students how they too, could also develop their own media sites and build networking tactics that would get them to socialize with others in their career field as well as possibly landing a job.

As part of the social event, the sponsor,Chevy brought some of their newest car models to the campus for students to test-drive.

Personally, I was able to get my hands in the Chevy Volt and to my surprise, the car was very pleasant to drive. The Volt is the first electric car Chevy makes and they have definitely made it worthy of its name. Like a lightning bolt, the car functions just as if it was running on gasoline. Buttons are a thing of this past, the Chevy Volt has its screen, including radio and the wheel commands all touch sensitive. The car can run up to 40 miles before charging and its technology driven system lets the driver  know how long charging would take.

GM has placed a very competitive car on the market that will attract the technology people of today. The Volt, comes equipped with GM’s signature Onstar, which is truly a plus.

The 5:00 a.m. Reading

Although reading should be part of every reporter’s routine, I have to confess I haven’t made it a habit. Reading the newspaper becomes boring  and if the topic is politics, I truly do not enjoy reading pass the first paragraph.

My mom is about to walk out the door to go to work and I ask her to take some picures, she gives me a strange face but agrees to take a few shots..

“You need this for school? Ok, sure..”

After telling her she cannot move the camera because the pictures will come out blurry, she pulls the speech that she doesn’t know technology and leaves without locking the front door.

Regardless of my hostility towards reading, especially at 5 a.m. Today’s front page of the New York Times caught my attention, maybe because it is so early and words tend to jump off the screen or simply because this is an assignment for school..  actually, it turned out to be fun..

As I read the first paragraph about the opposition in Libya, the word “freakish” seems to be out of place.. I thought the New York Times kept their stories clear and to the point, freakish? I would have never thought they would include such a word in their articles..

I would have liked a different approach to the lead in this story:

In less than three weeks, Libya, one of the most isolated countries, has managed to overthrow four decades of Col. Muammar el-Qaddafi’s dictatorship, which has led to a different portrayal to the West and their fellow Libyans.

The New York Times Front Page:

BENGHAZI, Libya — In less than three weeks, an inchoate opposition in Libya, one of the world’s most isolated countries, has cobbled together the semblance of a transitional government, fielded a ragtag rebel army and portrayed itself to the West and Libyans as an alternative to Col. Muammar el-Qaddafi’s four decades of freakish rule.

It was 6:12 a.m., after dozing off between paragraphs I finally finished reading the 2-page article. Don’t ask me to summarize the article, I honestly just know that Libya is struggling and that they need aid..

I did have time to log on to my Gmail account, I erased all of my spam emails and satisfied my inner fashionista – bought a small necklace @ my favorite online site: :) that felt good.. I couldn’t go back to bed, so I  went on to eat my cereal..
